The people at Netatmo are empowering you with a tool to monitor your immediate surroundings in a way we could only do by watching the news on television, browsing the internet, or using the good ole eye test. The company launched the product back in August/2012 and the product was named CES Innovations 2013 Design and Engineering Award Honoree in Three Categories.
The Urban Weather Station and it's free app lets users monitor the quality of their inside and outside living environments, accurately tracking and monitoring both weather and Air Quality from iOS devices such as iPhones, iPads and iPod touch. The elemental data it will gather includes temperature, humidity, air pressure, and CO2 levels just to name a few. With this WiFi connected Urban Weather Station, Netatmo aims to create the largest weather and air quality monitoring network ever established.
Air Quality conditions reported by the Netatmo App allows users to assess the best times for outdoor physical activity, when to commute versus drive to work. Another benefit is giving the users the ability to evaluate indoor air confinement by measuring CO2 concentration. When C02 reaches an excessive level, the user is alerted and can take action to ventilate his or her home.
The App is free, the air quality monitors are 179.00.
