Acorn for images

There is a new version of the image editor Acorn available on the Mac App store. For those of you who are unfamiliar with Acorn, it is an image editor that is similar to Adobe's Photoshop, but doesn't have the deep learning curve that Photoshop has. It also doesn't have the deep tool set that Photoshop has, so it is not a Photoshop replacement for you image pros, but if you need to do some light editing, Acorn may just be the ticket.
It has the ability to do layers, text and add shapes to images as well as pushing pixels around. You can read about it's full capabilities on the makers website: www.flyingmeat.com/acorn/
During May it is on sale for $29.99, half its normal price. It's a deal at its full price, so it's a no brainer at half that.
It is also one of this month's "Editor's Choice" apps on the Mac App store, with all reviews giving it 5 stars. I don't think I've ever seen that type of app-love before.
