Is free truly free. Not always with apps

Be careful when installing "Free" apps that don't really do much. Security watchdog ThreatPost reported recently on a seemingly innocuous flashlight app in the Android app store that was actually mining data on the phones that it was installed on. The creators of the app then sold that data to various companies. This violated the End User Licensing Agreement (EULA), but I don't think the creators cared. There app started collecting data from the phone as soon as it was install and even after the user chose not to share data when prompted. I think Apple has much better security and vetting on Apps on the Apple Appstore, but you should always be careful when installing "Free" apps. It might just be a click, but do a little research first and make sure the creator have a good track record, or at least not a bad one.
