Mars exposed!

A few weeks ago I talked about a couple of mars space craft that had reached high altitude orbit around Mars. One of these craft was called MAVEN (Mars Atmosphere and Volatile Evolution) and was set to study the Mars atmosphere in hopes that scientists could get a better idea what happened to the warm, wet atmosphere on Mars and how it got to the cold dry state that it is in today.
This week the MAVEN has sent back images of the Mars atmosphere that start that process of discovery. The images show that the current atmosphere degrades and parts of it leave the planet for outer space.  Click on the image above to read more.
