If you've ever needed know what your system is doing at any given moment, there are plenty of apps that allow you to find that info. However, you will need to jump around a bit and glean through information from several apps like System Profile to Activity Monitor. I recently learned of a new app called EtreCheck that condenses that info into a single easy to read screen. It even tells you things like which launch daemons are running on your computer and what processes are using the most CPU time. It will even give you links to help you troubleshoot problems that it might see. For instance, it gave me a link to download the latest Java update when it noticed that I was not running the most up to date version. If you troubleshoot Mac systems, it's worth a look. You can download it here.
