Pluto is in the news again.

The New Horizons space craft is hurtling toward the dwarf planet at break neck speed and has already covered 2.9 billion miles. It will be at it's closest distance to Pluto on July 15th of this year, and it still has 24 million miles to travel before it gets there. Even though the space craft is 24 million miles away they have been snapping a few picts of the dwarf planet. To me they still look like little blobs, but you can start to make out individual features on the surface. There are clear areas of light and dark. It looks as if the surface terrain is highly irregular. You can take a peek at more of the images here.
