Inner Balance from HeartMath

Inner Balance from HeartMath

After Apple's announcement yesterday about the Apple Watch heart rate monitor being used with Airstrip's Sense4Baby's to monitor the heart rates of fetuses and mothers during labor and delivery, I got to thinking about one of my favorite heartbeat apps Inner Balance Trainer from Heart Math for iOS.  It doesn't work with the Apple Watch yet, but rather with a sensor that clips gently on the earlobe.  Once the heart rate sensor is in place, launch the Inner Balance app and start heart-focused breathing into a state called coherence (defined as  "a state of internal synchronization between the heart, breath and the head" HearthMath's website FAQs).  The sensor is useful in getting immediate visual and auditory feedback on the training session.  Sessions are saved and there are other features such as journaling and sharing that are helpful in tracking progress.  The set-up described here runs $129.  But...

There are free tools available through the HeartMath Institute that go a long way to help someone develop more inner balance, relieve stress, increase productivity and general sense of calm, and develop one's whole health.  Their research is also available on the site too.

Enjoy.  In health.
