This one comes by way of an email from my Dad.  He brought to my attention a FREE piece of software that really allows you to take control of gestures on your Mac.

Meet BetterTouchTool.  I've been trying it out and I have to say, it's quite handy.  I have a laptop with a built in trackpad.  With a triangle gesture I can now open my Mail app.  With what they call a TipTap Left I can launch my calendar.  BetterTouchTool is packed full of features that let you configure actions for keyboard shortcuts, gestures, and even has a built in window snapper allowing you to quickly resize and position your windows.  Even users with a magic mouse can benefit from BetterTouchTool.  Lastly, I didn't try it out, but there is an app for iOS devices that allow you to use your iPad or iPhone as a touch surface remote for your computer.
