Apple Pay vs Google Wallet vs CurrentC

Seems to be all the tech talk these days is surrounding digital payment apps and/or systems.  The most recent being Apple Pay and most of the negativity around it is that of retailers not offering the service.  Namely CVS and Rite Aid who are in favor of a payment system in development called CurrentC.  There are (or will be) advantages to both but since CurrentC is not slated to launch until 2015...what's the big deal (CVS, Rite Aid, and others) with allowing current consumers the ability to pay HOW THEY WANT TO.  Isn't money money?  Is my money no longer good at these retailers?  Here is an interesting article with great information on the future of mobile payments and how to punish those not willing to get on board...bwaa ha ha
