Today's Apple Fall event announced a wonderful extension of the Apple Watch heart rate sensing capabilities. Teaming up with AirStrip's Sense4Baby technology, the Apple Watch can differentiate between the mother and the baby's heart rates allowing doctors to monitor prenatal health in and out of the hospital using cloud technology that is HIPAA-compliant. The Apple Watch replaces a hand-held monitor currently in use.
I got goosebumps reading about this expansion of functionality and look forward to hearing more about how this technology improves health outcomes for mothers and children.
